Custom Growing and Custom Cleaning
At Royal Commodities we offer custom growing of specialty crops. We contract with reputable growers with whom we have developed a good working relationship and arrange planting. We monitor growth and harvesting, the trucking in of the crop, the cleaning and bagging of the harvest and the shipping out. At any period of time we always have crops under contract. Whatever cereal or grain you are looking for, on a varietal basis or quality basis, please feel free to contact us to discuss. It's no fuss.
Oats
The supply and export of high-quality Canadian Oats for Race Horses and Thoroughbreds is our specialty. But we also feed humans. After all, who else would clean the horse stalls?

Our Oat Markets & Services
We currently ship to three main Oat market segments: 1] the performance oat market (race horse oats); 2] the milling oat market (human consumption); and, 3] the feed oat market (animal feed). Our oats are sourced from Central and Northern Alberta where we meticulously select to stringent quality standards. Under controlled conditions we ensure that our oats are cleaned, re-cleaned, clipped and polished to an average bushel weight of 48 - 50 lbs./bushel. A clean bright and white oat, free of dust is what we do and do BEST. Our cleaning standards ensure that all weed seeds, dust and small oats are extracted. You get the FINEST. Our primary market is the Export market - the U.S.A., Asia, Europe, Central and South America. We load railcars for bulk North American markets, bag and ship in 25 kg, 30 kg and 40 kg poly bags in truckloads or in 20 foot or 40 foot container loads for shipment out of Vancouver to a variety of overseas destinations. We arrange everything when it comes to overseas shipments; from container loading, vessel booking and scheduling, phyto-sanitary certification, and marine insurance. We can offer on an FOB, CIF and CFR basis. Just let us know what you need and where you would like us to ship to. And we will do it. To your complete satisfaction.

We are a proud Western Canadian supplier of home-grown Albertan oats. Located at the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains range where perfect weather conditions, with just the right amount of precipitation and abundant sunshine, allow us to select only the oats to meet your specific needs. We contract with Albertan farmers and bulk oat suppliers throughout the crop year to get you - our highly valued customer - the quality, color and size of oat you require, in a competitive, timely, and cost efficient manner. We are not 'another broker type' because we actually own the product we sell. We continually work with our Processing and Plant Cleaning Partners to custom-clean to your specific needs. |
Current Oat Grades
Here are some examples of current grades: Premium - Triple Cleaned Race Horse Oats, min. 50 lbs./ bushel cleaned over a # 6 x 64 slotted screen. Performance - Double Re-cleaned Race Horse Oats, min. 48lbs/ bushel cleaned over a # 5.5 x 64 slotted screen. Whole Oat Grains - 46 +/- 2.0 lbs. per cu. ft. (de-hulled oats, no additives), cleaned to Canadian/US Food Drug Act specifications. Feed Quality Oats - For animal feeding purposes.
